We have a friend who has purchased several puppets in the last year. For the sake of his marriage we won’t reveal his name for this column. HE is a devout lover of his new puppets and is very much like a child at Christmas when waiting for the next one to arrive.
This last week we shipped him his newest friend. He was both anxious and excited about the new puppet arriving. Since he had already gotten several new puppets in the last year, his wife was NOT as excited as he was, so he quietly kept her in the dark until the last moment.
Once we shipped the puppet, he was anxiously awaiting the tracking information. His plan was to do kind and loving things for his wife so that she would be accepting of the new character when it arrived.
Apparently the plan went well and it sounded like she was ok with the new purchase. Then we got an Email from him and this is exactly as it arrived:
“Wait all day. . . prepare my wife that he is coming today and in all great typical USPS fashion, their delivery dates are almost always wrong lol. Sure enough he didn’t show up. The biggest mystery of the USPS. . .where do packages go when they follow the same routes everyday? I guess tomorrow is another day to wait. I despise the USPS lol.”
So, if you think you have stress in your life, just understand that some folks have it a lot worse than we do.
