An Unusual Puppet for The Dummy Shoppe

Recently we were asked to make a 5′-5″ tall Asian Princess puppet for Singapore Professional Ventriloquist Patrick Wan. This was definitely the largest puppet we have done to date. She also had some other unusual requirements, not the least of which was that she had to have movable swaying hips. (ooh-la-la)

We got through the project and shipped her off to Singapore where we thought we might never see her again. Fortunately we were wrong about that. Throughout the whole process Patrick and I got to be pretty good friends and exchanged a multitude of little humorous comments over the project. We are now happy to say that Patrick has become another good friend and we look forward to hearing from him from time to time.

There are indeed some cultural differences in what we see locally in the art form, but Patrick is a very unique performer on his side of the world. We have another project in the works with him that will really be “out there” but until it is complete and he sends video back, I am not at liberty to divulge what it is.

Anyway, here is a video of several performances Patrick did with his Princess for the Lunar New Year. Enjoy, we think you will find it very interesting.

Thanks Patrick for sending this video. We love it when we get to see our work in action.

That’s all for now folks. Until next time,

Steve and JET
