Something that comes up frequently when we watch videos of Vents performing is the way that they use repetitious speech in their act. What we are talking about is this.

They go along in something they are saying and then they seem to pause and say. . . . . . um. . .um. . .um. . . or ah. . . ah. . .ah . . . What this tells the audience is that they don’t really have a good grasp on what they are trying to say.

Instead of really knowing what they want to say, they just get to a point and then they just stumble.

Don’t do this. It sounds unorganized and unprofessional. Practice your performance to the point that you know from memory exactly what you are going to say before you get to it.

If you can, take the time to video your performance and watch yourself perform until you can pick out all the bad spots and eliminate them from your act.

This is another one of those things that can make you either look good or very bad to your audience.

We will talk again soon,

Steve and JET
