Time out for a little Playing

From time to time we like to take a little time out to deal with only the fun side of the business. This is where we all get to sit in the audience and enjoy watching someone else do all the work.

A year ago, we made a puppet for our good friend Ron Spears. Ron hails from the Nashville area, and has some exceptional Ventriloquism skills. Just this week, Ron sent us some pictures from a tour he just completed in the American Northwest, where he performed with his band and did some Vent.

I forgot to mention that the puppet we did for Ron was a “fake arm” duck, named “Delroid the Wonder Duck”. Delroid, like Ron is a musician. He plays the violin and does it quite masterfully. Ron holds Delroid and Delroid holds the bow in his mouth and plays the Violin while Ron does the fret work on the violin. The combination is a great crowd pleaser. Here are some shots that Ron sent us at a Hootenanny that he was at.

See for yourselves. It looks like a great time was had by all.

One major thing that makes Ron stand out as a Ventriloquist is that no matter how close you look, you will NEVER see his lips move. He is a real master at that.

We consider it to be our most fun when we get to see our creations in action, so keep sending us the pictures – we love them and will most likely share them with you.

Thats all for now folks,

Steve and JET

  1. I love how he handles that duck. I watched the video on YouTube a while ago but didn’t realise it was one of yours Jet. Really nice. The figures you create are so full of character without looking like a toy puppet which is why I have your turtle (George).
