There are so many facets to being a GREAT Ventriloquist, that it is hard to cover all of them. This is just a small item that we want to cover this week, but all the little details add up to make a great entertainer.
If you watch several videos on Ventriloquism, notice that in most of them the puppets hands are flat and lifeless. One thing that separates puppets from The Dummy Shoppe from other makers is that ALL of our hands are prewired.
What this means is that you can take a few seconds and position the hands for effect. You are not limited to just one position. You can re-position the hands as often as you like to have them doing several things.
For instance, you might have a puppet using a single finger to “Pick” his or her nose. Maybe you want the hands to be folded at times. There is no end to the things you can have the hands doing.
Just use your imagination. Maybe you want to have the puppet holding a small can of soda. Again there is no limit to what you might want to do. Think about it and then practice several different ways to have the hand shaped.
