Start Making Plans Now!

I was talking to a ventriloquist friend a couple of days ago and the topic came up of Vent Haven 2017. This person did just like I have heard several other people do. He moaned and groaned about the expense of the ConVENTion.

So I decided to add up the expenses of the trip. The cost of getting into the ConVENTion is about $125.00 for the first person in a group or family. If you arrived at the Marriot on Wednesday about noon, you would only need to be there for 4 nights if you did not depart until Sunday morning.

Cost of Hotel, $480.00. So far that is $605.00. You don’t need to eat at the expensive Hotel restaurant if you don’t have the money. Drive about a mile from the hotel and there are several inexpensive restaurants like McDonalds.

Even better, you are right next to the biggest Kroger on the planet. Buy a styrofoam cooler for about 8 bucks. Then buy your groceries for each day making sure to get food that is ready to eat.

We can tell you for a fact that 2 people can eat for the entire time on about $100.00. Go back to your room with your styrofoam cooler and go get ice from the Hotel ice machine. (Free)

Now you are at $705.00 dollars. If you spend $300.00 on transportation that puts you at $1,000.00 for the entire ConVENTion.

There are now 41 weeks before next years ConVENTion. $1,000.00 divided by 41 is $24.39 per week. Most of us waste that much every week. Stop wasting and put it in a jar.. . . . .

There goes your excuse. We will see you at ConVENTion next year.

We will talk again next week.

  1. That is a perfect way to think about the conVention. Plus getting to see and network with the stars of our art and be able to attend the best lectures on the planet. Not to mention our fantastic dealers. Put the money away and be there!

  2. Thanks! I needed this push I have been saying for years I am going to go but I never do. $25 going in the bank today to my venthaven account.

  3. Try coming from New Zealand. If you are making money from ventriloquism, it is worth every penny. And I presume it’s tax detectable in The States as well. And even if you are not making money from it, it is still well worth it.
