When was the last time that you video taped your performance so you can see how you look to your audience?
No matter how good you are (or how good your “mother” has told you that you are) you need to see your performance first hand for yourself to see what you can spot in needed improvements in your act.
Go into a room where there are no other interruptions. Set up a video recorder and proceed to give a performance.
Wait a couple of hours after you are through before you view the performance. This way your memory will not be as focused on your performance as it was when you first did the show. You will be able to see the act with a fresh eye.
Take notes as you watch the video. Make sure to write down anything that you spot as you watch so that each item gets addressed.
Keep striving to improve.
We will talk again next week.

You documented “Wait a couple of hours after you are through before you view the performance. ”
Good suggestion! I have not done that recently. I frequently review my performances like our 5 minute excerpt from our 2016 VENThaven performance: https://youtu.be/YY4oiemZQWQ
I also hand my iPhone 6 Plus to willing volunteers to record portions of my live performances. After the performance, I use iMovie on the iPhone with it’s sound effects to create short videos for promotional use like the following 22 Seconds with the Catholic Charities Day Care https://youtu.be/woqvcfsBbTA
It’s even better if you wait a couple of days to watch it
