Does your puppet need a NEW look?

From time to time we all find that our material and puppets need a little “updating”. Ok we know that. Now how do we go about achieving the new fresh look.

If you stop and think about it, when you do shows, you may have a standard type of dress style that you go with. Every now and then you change clothes. This at least tells our audiences that we do bathe on a regular basis. Now look at your puppets.

When people see you in a fresh change of clothes they do not say “Oh, I don’t even know this person”. If your puppet occasionally gets a new change of costume they will NOT think it is a different puppet.

They may not even notice the change, but something will trigger a response in the minds of the audience that there is something new and fresh about your act.

Now, how do we achieve this new look. It is really quite easy. Every town in America now has a Thrift Shop. Take some time and go to the one near you. Look for the small clothes on the rack. In the case of most puppets, you will need to look for size T3 or T4 clothes.

Find something cute or serious depending on the personality of your puppet. You can range from the look of a preacher to the look of a clown. Just go shopping and see what is out there. If you can’t find a new outfit for a $10.00 bill we would be amazed.

There are tons of little peoples clothes out there. One of the great things about kids is that they outgrow their clothes before they ever get to wear them out. Therefore finding clothes in great condition is almost guaranteed.

Try it. You will find that it does in fact freshen up your act and give you a new perspective on your show as well.

That is all for now,

Steve and JET
