How to be a failure

I have been following all the comments on another blog lately. It seems to be a very common complaint that puppet makers don’t have good relationships with puppet makers.

Many comments have come in that are absolute horror stories. A maker will sell a product (yet unmade) and tell the customer when it will be done. (I interject that it does not make any difference how long the period of time is. It can be one month or one year. The complaint is that people want to know what to expect.)

It seems that a large number of makers will say almost anything to get the order, and then they will (mostly) eventually send you your puppet. A huge complaint is that when the promised time arrives, these makers will not be bothered to answer Emails. This really makes people mad. It is rude, discourteous, and the sign of someone who is telling the customer that they do not matter. In my mind it is the sign of a person who is a FAILURE.

Now the good news. We pride ourselves on keeping commitments. In the five years we have been in existence in the world of soft, we have yet to miss a promised date. With the exception of weekends, holidays and ConVENTion, we try to respond to all emails within 4 – 24 hours. We understand that we are not here for us.

We only exist as long as we put out a great product and maintain true friendships with all of our customers. It is better to turn someone away on the front end then to tell them you will get it done by there date and know you cannot keep your word.

What it really boils down to is this. Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You. It really works.

We value beyond dollars the friendships we have with each of you. We love it when we go to ConVENTion and we can look forward to seeing each of you who attend. If there are problems. . .fix them.

That is all for now. We will talk soon.

  1. I can vouch for you guys. Having ordered from you before you not only committed to a time frame (which you kept to) you also provided me with regular updates including progression images to show me how my order was coming along and to get feedback as to any tweaks I may have wanted along the way.

I too have fallen victim to a well known figure maker who is taking far too long to build just a body (not head) and is not responding to any of my enquiries even though he has collected full payment 8 months ago. I won’t be buying from this person again and certainly will not recommend him to my ventriloquist associates and friends.

You guys on the other hand offer exemplary customer service asking only for a deposit when the order is placed and final payment upon it’s completion and I have no hesitations in recommending you to anyone. Such is the result of not only producing outstanding puppets, but providing outstanding customer service as well – Thank you
