Our Good Friend William Matthews

Several years ago we became aware of several of our friends who were having problems transporting hard figures on airlines. Seems like the Security Folks might not be very good at catching bad guys, but they play the dickens on little old ladies and puppets.

One of the folks that we met as a result of some articles on transportation woes was a man named William Matthews.

He was having problems transporting his hard figure, but he did not want to give up the figure as it was so well recognized. To make a long story short, we made a soft version of his hard figure.

About a week ago we got some pictures of William and Woody. Enjoy, and remember that we can do soft versions of your hard figures.

  1. Why is there a problem flying with a hard figure. I haven’t flown in a few years with mine but might in the future. What do I have to watch for?

    Thanks

    1. The problem I had was somehow the case had come open during handling and my figure’s hand had become broken and a folder of props I keep with him was missing. Of course nothing was said to me about it and I didn’t discover it until I reached my destination. Fortunately I was able to get some Elmer’s wood glue for his hand and some construction paper to remake some of the props. And before you ask, yes, I had the case secured and locked, I always duct tape and strap the case shut when I travel with him by air. How it happened is still a mystery.

  2. Bill has become a good friend through ventriloquism. How great to be honored by the Dummy Shoppe like this. Atta boy Bill!
