This has been a while coming, but several recent events have driven this to the front of the line. First, all of the puppets that we have in our catalog have already been done and sold in the past to someone else. We only display those pictures to give you ideas of what can be done.
We are NOT attempting to sell you that puppet. We do not do duplicates for sale. The only exception is that we will do duplicates for the owner of record of the original puppet. This is so that performer can have a backup or replacement for the puppet that they already have purchased.
Of late we have had several folks who have rejected head shots of a puppet “similar” saying “that does not look like the one on your website”. It was NOT supposed to. It is a “similar”. Then they come back and say, “Well can’t you make it look a little more like the first one”. The answer is NO! If we do that then we would not be honoring our commitment to the original customer when we said that we don’t do duplicates.
The solution to the problem is that we will no longer be sending head shots of puppets that were ordered as “similars”. We will for the time being continue sending completed shots of the puppet, but the stress and aggravation of arguing with (a very small number of folks) has had JET wondering if it is worth being a puppet maker.
The vast majority of our friends/customers have been very easy to work with and are very understanding of the word “similar”, but a very small minority have driven this change. That minority seem to have the attitude that if they can be extremely demanding that they somehow get more for their money. Sadly it does not work that way. We MUSTand WILL be the ones who determine just how close we can come to an original without breaking our word. We do in fact want to make a puppet look “similar” if that is what you ordered, but we have to draw the line somewhere.
We ask for your understanding on this (since we know that you are in the majority of good folks).
If you already have a puppet on order, we will honor our commitment to send you headshots on the puppet(s) you already have on order, but all puppets “similars” ordered from this day forward will not have headshots provided.
