Of all the weeks in the year that we don’t want to forget, this one is at the top of the list. So before we get into a shortened topic for this week, we just want to say to all of our friends in the Vent Community that we want you to have a most blessed Merry Christmas.
Not forgetting the real reason that we are celebrating and hoping that each of you have the warmest of times with family and friends.
We received several notes from some of you this week about the importance of manipulation. That said, lets keep it light and just sit back and enjoy one of the old masters, Mr. Bill DeMar.
Bill was a great manipulator for years before some of us even knew what puppets were. Here is a classic piece that shows what plain old raw manipulation can do. This is done without the aid of Ventriloquism, and we want to highlight this because even though Bill is a great ventriloquist, this is an example of what can be achieved with just manipulation.

Bill’s tag line is “The Master of Sight and Sound.” And in his prime, he certainly was. Bill’s manipulation technique had a huge influence on many vents, including Jeff Dunham, who mentions this fact in his new autobiography.
And for years at the Vent Haven convention, there was a Bill DeMar manipulation award given to the most deserving vent.
