Something New
We spend a considerable amount of time watching puppet videos. One thing that has come across to me is that Vents are in fact hung up on not moving their lips. This is good but it is only one half of the battle.
Do you ever get irritated listening to someone talk when you cannot understand them? That is the other half of the battle. Not only do you need to not move your lips, you also need to enunciate your words.
First, practice saying your lines in front of a mirror when you are enunciating your words. At first don’t worry about moving your lips. It is more important that you are understood when you speak.
Once you have mastered speaking clearly, now go back and work on the same lines and keep your lips from moving. If it was easy, everyone would be a Ventriloquist.
It is an Art form. It takes hard work to get it right. If you truly love what you do, it will be worth the effort. It is very important that you are understood. Practice, Practice, PRACTICE.
