About a month ago we did a blog on the importance of having business cards. Now it is time to step it up a notch to get the word out about the great act that you offer.
This is without a doubt the age of technology. Yes it is important to have a business card. What are you doing to use your business card to the maximum advantage for your act?
Have you thought about having your own website? Before you melt down about the amount of work that is involved in having a website, lets just talk about the type of website that you can have. You could have one that is quite complex like the one The Dummy Shoppe has.

What does your website really need to do for you? It should have a clever name that can be advertised on your business card. It needs to have your name blasted all over the cover page and have several pictures of you when you are performing.
It should also have several pictures of each of your puppets so that people looking at your site can get a clear view of the type of show they can come to expect from you.
You need a page that gives your contact information and phone numbers so that people can get in touch with you to book a show. This must also include things like your email information.
It does not need to be very complex if you just want to use it to expose your act for publicity. For a very simple type of website, you can probably use something like “Siteground” and use their tutorial instructions that will walk you through the process of creating a website (Steve says they are great and highly recommends them).
It is important that you have something in the way of a website to make an impression on folks. With your website listed on your business card, you can give the impression that you are serious about being in the Ventriloquist world as a performer.
Think about it and look into it. If you use one of the simple site setups it is very inexpensive.
