Over a period of time we have heard from several people who were having problems with moist interiors in their puppets. These are people who are true working vents and who truly count on their puppets to make a living.
We have come up with a very easy solution to this problem. Go to your local home improvement store and purchase a piece of 3″ PVC pipe about 1 foot long. Take it home and take it out to your shop.
Get a drill with a 1/2″ bit in it. Fill the piece of pipe with as many holes as you can. Then take the pipe and stick it up inside your puppet.
Take a hair dryer and make sure the heat is turned off. Stick the hair dryer in the lower end of the pipe, and blow cold air up the pipe for 5 – 10 minutes or until the puppet is dry, rotating the pipe as you go so the air gets good coverage inside the puppet.
This was a simple solution to a problem that not everyone has, but just file it away in your head for when you do need it. That is all for this week. We will talk again next week.
