Just got off the phone with Mark Wade, Executive Director of the Vent Haven ConVENTion. He and wife Jody were traveling on the way home having safely evacuated Florida from hurricane Irma. Mark said that their house had suffered no damage from the storm.
Mark also told me that we have had big new changes in store for the 2018 ConVENTion. We have moved to a new location. Next year will be at The Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport from July 18 – 21 next year.
The Holiday Inn has promised us that there would not be any remodeling going on while we are there next year. Many folks felt like we were inconvenienced this year by the amount of construction at the hotel.
Mark told me that folks will have to have signed up for the ConVENTion itself in order to get a “password code” to be able to make reservations at The Holiday Inn. You will be able to make your reservations for the ConVENTion sometime in October.
This new arrangement will make certain that only people who are truly coming in July will be able to get hotel reservations. Last year about 30 rooms were reserved and then cancelled at the last minute which kept about 60 folks from being able to get rooms.
We will be passing on more information as it is available.
NOW, this years finals of AGT will be on the 19th of this month. This will be before we are able to remind you of the outcome of Darci’s performance. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that all of us in the Vent world remember to vote Vote VOTE next Tuesday night.
If we all vote with all of the methods that we can use, Darci is almost a shoe in for the winners spot. Once again we all need to be aware that any time a Ventriloquist wins a major event, it is good for all of us in the Vent world.
