Lets take a few minutes this week to work on wrist action. Wrist action is something you don’t even have the opportunity to use if you only have hard figures.

With soft sculpture, you have the opportunity to use wrist action because it is your arm and wrist that are inside the puppets neck instead of a control stick. Now that we have defined the difference, lets get into what you can do with wrist action.

By using your wrist, you can make the whole head nod up and down, rock from side to side and swivel around to name just a few. There is almost no limits to what you can do with good wrist action.

Take time to practice these techniques, using your hand for mouth control at the same time your wrist can be moving the head all over the place to express many kinds if emotion.

That is about all for this week.
