In order to keep the impression of the puppet being alive going strong, it is important that your puppets mouth moves in a fashion that matches the words that he\/she is speaking. Here is what we are saying. Write down a short line for your puppet to say.<\/p>\n

For example, “Hi there, My name is Gina. When I grow up, I want to be the best Realtor in the world.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Now, using your puppet in front of a mirror, lets practice this line over and over. Hi<\/strong> (one syllable – one open and close of the mouth) there<\/strong> (one syllable – one open and close of the mouth) My<\/strong> (one syllable – one open and close of the mouth) name<\/strong> (one syllable – one open and close of the mouth) is<\/strong> (one syllable – one open and close of the mouth) Gina<\/strong> (two syllables – two openings and closings of the mouth).<\/p>\n

You get the picture. Every time you say a word, that is one syllable, and the mouth should open and close one time. Make sure that you time the opening and closing to match the word being spoken. <\/p>\n

The word “Gina” is two syllables. “Gi” , “na”. Move the mouth twice. If your puppets name is “Samuel” it would be “Sam”, “u”, “el”. Move the mouth three times.<\/p>\n

Make sure that you learn to time the opening and closing of the mouth with the word being spoken. The word “My” is pretty quick. “Name” takes a little longer.<\/p>\n

Like anything else in the vent world, the key is practice. You will find that it is easier as you work at it.<\/p>\n
